3. Does a change to the tail location require new tooling?
Yes, it is a new design for touch screen.
4. What are AMT’s quality recommendations?
AMT provides maximum reliability and product lifetime, as well as the benefits of strong R&D and pre/after sales service.
5. What is the new (custom) item generation procedure?
LCD or current touch screen drawings are submitted for evaluation. Once is has been determined that no stanrdard (in stock) items match, a customized part number and initial quotation for sample and lead time are generated.
6. Does AMT provide integration support?

7. What are the packaging details?
As touch screen size and tail design are all different, therefore uses different packing box respectively. AMT provide inner and outer carton to secure each touch screen for shipment. Please contact us, if you have any special package demand.
8. What are AMT’s RMA procedures?
- Customers inform AMT Customer Service of defective item(s).
- Customer Service provides RMA request form with RMA number to customer to fill in then instructs return of defective item(s).
- Customer Service receives item(s) and processes RMA form to inform sales and customer thereof.
- Customer Service examines items, reports to customer, and returns referral and new item(s).
9. Are AMT devices RoHS compliant?

10. Are AMT items compatible with 3M and ELO?

12. What touch screen constructions Does AMT offer?
Conventionally, AMT utilizes Film-on-glass construction, but in the event of customer request, film/film/PC is also available.
13. Why is FPC tail preferred?
FPC tail is high in adhesion force, flexibility with small bend radius and available in different tail length, pitch, termination and customized shapes, e.g. L or U.
14. Is AMT ISO certified?
Yes, AMT factory operations are ISO 9001-2008 certified.
15. Does AMT meet UL certification?
AMT products are UL 60950 certified and UL code E331240.
16. Which control boards and drivers are compatible with AMT touch screens?
PenMount control boards and drivers are available to fit all AMT touch screens.

18. What is the difference between integral tail and FPC tail?
Integral tail is the same material from the ITO film, it has higher bend radius than FPC tail. FPC tail is using flexible printed circuit with smaller bend radius.
19. What applications are suited for analog and matrix touch screens?
Matrix touch screen is a good choice for fixed position with only on/off function. Otherwise, analog touch screens are preferred.
20. Do matrix touch screens require IC/board control?
No, since matrix touch screens only have a fixed positioned signal, requiring multiplexer to decode the touch signal.
21. Does AMT keep any standard matrix touch screens in stock?
No.

26. Do touch screens have MTBF?
Generally, MTBF applies to finish product but for components part, it usually applies MTTF. The MTTF for AMT 4/8 wire touch screen is 96000hrs and AMT 5 wire touch screen is 280000hrs.
27. Why do bulges appear on touch screens?
The phenomenon is referred to as “Pillowing”. The cause may be excess air between PET film and glass or improper lamination of the touch screen.
28. Are AMT touch screens compatible with Vista OS and pen input thereof?
Yes.
