The principle of GFG touch panel is to add an extra layer of 0.2mm thin glass on the surface of traditional resistive touch panel, and it is the glass surface where a user make contact with, instead of the film material; glass is a type of High Modulus material, with characteristics not only scratch resistant but also durable to abrasiveness, and the surface hardness can reach 5H on the Mohs Hardness Scale (Mohs), moreover, for the ordinary resistive touch panel, we know that the surface hardness of ITO Film is 3H, and with adoption of GFG structure, the condition which the surface of ordinary resistive touch panel is easily scratched by harden objects can be resolved. For GFG products, their surfaces can be cleansed easily, and as the glass itself is with characteristic against chemical substances, they also act the same way as the ordinary resistive touch panel, able to allow inputs with any kinds of media. As a result, GFG touch panel is particularly suitable for applications in the markets, such as industrial machines, medical instruments, food processing equipment, or to be used on other instruments which are in need of strict operation specification requirements.

Other than offering standard GFG touch panels, AMT also designs GFG products with Low Reflection (GFG LR). On the top of GFG LR Resistive touch panel, there is a layer of thin glass with AR coating for the surface hardness to reach up to 7H, in combination with lower layer of polarizer as well as quarter wave retarder film, to reduce the reflective rate of touch panel smaller than 1.5%, while its light transmission rate is around 76%, and with application on the hand-held equipment (e.g. hand-held instrument, tablet computer, and etc.) operated either outdoor or in the environment of strong sunlight, it will produce the optimal effects.

For the AMT standard touch panel products of GFG and GFG LR, the excellent features of the products are as the followings:

• With options on the linear designs of four, five or eight, the size of touch panel can reach as large as 19”.
• Temperature resistance on operation is within the range between -30°C and +80°C; Storage temperature is within the range between -40°C and +90°C.
• The static weight loading is very high, able to reach a maximum up to 40KgF.
• UV-Resistant
• Anti-erosion, applicable in the chemical substance environment, and cleansed easily on the surface.
• Scratch resistant and durable to abrasiveness, with the surface hardness up to the specification of 5H on the Mohs Hardness Scale (Mohs).
• Without strenuous force, only light touch to be operable.

For the GFG touch products of AMT, one can also choose to put on a layer of electromagnetic interference (EMI), not only to prevent its own electromagnetic field of the whole system from interrupting other instruments or systems, but able to stop the effects of external electromagnetic wave on its own system.

PenMount Drivers:

For a lot of clients, when they design new products, it is always with expectation to put into some kinds of special operations as well as applications, which might not be the functions already being designed as part of standard versions from PenMount drivers. In such occasions, our PenMount team will make cooperative efforts develop the products with our clients, subsequently to revise our PenMount drivers, in order to meet with the needs of our client systems or to solve any technical problems, allowing the products to be able to reach the usages what they are originally expected by our clients. According to different needs, by modifying installation parameter files, some additional functions can be switched on before installing PenMount drivers, to include: silent mode installation, PenMount gesture utility and calibration point offset adjustment, and at the same time, when completing installation, the drivers will be directly applied to different default settings; for example, opening jitter threshold function and revising default operation mode. For PenMount firmware, it is offered with flexible parameter settings, through the modifications on firmware, it is able to operate utility programs by adding extra touch buttons on controllers, and it is similar as the multi-media button on the keyboard. In order to perform the functions preferred by the users, there is no need to go through complex application interfaces for making any changes on settings; instead we can directly communicate with the PenMount touch controllers for sending messages to the main system with the additional control buttons, for which is either through USB or RS-232 interface. Besides, according to the space needs of mechanical components from the client products, either the size of the PenMount control panel can be changed, or to use a hardware pin acted as function of switch-on/off (for example, shutting down touch function), all of which are some customized revisions made on touch control panel or firmware in the purpose to serve our clients by putting them in the first priority.

In the columns of AMT News last July, we made introduction of a series of Projected Capacitive Touch Solution products, which received encouragement from our clients unanimously. During the past half year, we have continuously made innovative research & development, while taking control on the demands of the market, and in this issue of Hot News Release, we are going to discuss with you on the current status of product developments for our AMT Projected Capacitive Touch Solution. We have made developments of Projected Capacitive Touch panel last year, with specification from 3” up to 15” in succession, which are to be accompanied by five types of PenMount touch controllers accordingly. During the first quarter of this year, both specifications of Projected Capacitive Touch panels at 12.1” and 15”, accompanied by PenMount 1400 touch controller, can all be with normal goods delivery, in order to satisfy the demands on the market as well as from our clients.

At the same time, AMT has successfully developed the design of 7” Projected Capacitive COF (Chip On Flex), for which is to solder the control IC directly on FPC tail, and when making integration, the space required by the kind of design is smaller, which is convenient for applications such as handheld products. As option, one can choose either to add extra layer of EMI (electromagnetic interference) shielding layer or not for the AMT Projected Capacitive touch with COF designed products, in order to allow operations with precision and agility. We anticipate that AMT 7” Projected Capacitive Touch Panel with COF design can be with goods delivery from the beginning in end of the first quarter of this year, and it is going to be a great help for our clients on their introduction to handheld products.

It can be optional whether or not to put on EMI shielding layer for the AMT medium-to-small Projected Capacitive Touch Panels with specification from 3” to 7”, and when is it necessary to put on the additional EMI shielding layer? Below are some of our recommendations for your reference:

• There are a lot of noises coming out from LCD module itself.
• The mechanical designs of the product does not have enough space between projected capacitive touch panel and LCD.
• For the adhesion between touch panel and LCD, it is adopted with optical boding.

On the other hand, if the LCD adopted is either with less interference, or the distance of adhesion between touch panel and LCD is greater than 1mm, one can take into consideration not to use products with the additional EMI shielding layer.

In order to make cooperation with the demands for large specifications of projected capacitive touch panels on the current markets, we plan to develop projected capacitive touch products with larger specifications, for example: 15.6” and 21.5”. What makes AMT Projected Capacitive products different from those of other touch panel companies is mainly that our company owns Touch Total Solution, through integration among touch panel, touch controller and firmware supported by AMT, to allow our clients able to receive more perfect product services. We understand that for many of projected capacitive companies, they only provide with touch panels, and they do not have firmware technologies as well as drivers to go along with the panel products, moreover, what AMT does is not only to bring high quality products to everyone, but to include complete and comprehensive supporting services.

PenMount Bulletin will be issued on Thursday of the second week of each month from this year. In this issue, the up-to-date development of PenMount projected capacitive touch (PCI) control is briefly presented. After 3 years continuous research and development since 2008, the PCI controller for different touch screen sizes are now ready for customers’ applications. Inherited the spirit of full-driver-support in PenMount resistive touch controller family, more drivers for PCI are to be in place soon.

For PCI touch, in every 4-8mm there is a so-called ‘Drive’ or ‘Sense’ line (or pattern) on the touch screen. The size of a touch screen is therefore the major factor to decide the number of ‘Drive’ or ‘Sense’ to connect to PCI controllers. The table below shows the four controller boards rolled out during last year:

The thickness of the cover glass of PCI can be thinner from 0.4mm up to 2.8mm. This gives the great opportunity of using gloves (medical sanitary, anti-static or that with material in cotton) for single or two fingers touching.

Multiple interfaces including USB/RS232/ I²C/SPI are ready for selection on PenMount PCI control board. Drivers for Windows XP/Vista/7 and Windows Embedded CE are supported. For Linux or Android, the driver in source format is offered for customers own development.

As we have mentioned above, the size of the touch screen is the major factor of selecting the right PenMount PCI controllers. There are still others which also contribute to the proper PCI operation and they are Drive-Sense pin-assignment, thickness of the cover lens, IO interface and others. PenMount PCI controller maintains a set of parameters to adjust the overall performance, e.g. speed and sensitivity. Customers may also check through PCIMset, an in-house developed tool offered by PenMount, to manipulate the parameters for the best PCI control.

It might be necessary for customers to upgrade PenMount PCI firmware in the field. ‘Pmfu’ (PenMount Field Update) is exactly the tool to accomplish the field update to keep the controller the most updated and compatible. You may contact our sales people for more detail.

On the banquet, AMT not only invited all the employees, clients, suppliers and stockholders to enjoy this wonderful event. One thing worth mention is that the power lifting athletic of the Paralympics- Ya-Xuan Lin, who AMT has been sponsoring, also attended the banquet. Ya-Xuan was handicapped due to a childhood injury. Since then, she could only depend on wheelchair. Never quitted, she won the sixth place in 2008 Beijing Paralympics. Last November, in the women power lifting, 60kg, of Dubai World Wheelchair Game, she went home with the gold medal. Ya-Xuan’s present and her striving events have inspired all the employees.

Not only the delicious dishes, the award of senior employees and the employees of the year were what everyone was waiting for. This year’s employees of the year were very competitive. The honor finally went to Ms. Kelly Huang in Financial Department and Ms. Pengrueanchum Sirinapha in Binding Assembly Line. Ms. Huang has been working in AMT for seven years. Her diligence, morality, and loyalty, which were important traits for financial staff, have won the trust of the high level officers and managed company’s financial. Sirinapha, from Thailand, worked very hard and accomplished all the given tasks. She was diligent and overcame the language barrier. Her presence gave her department head and colleagues a lot of senses of securities.

The incredible shows presented by the employees of AMT were inevitable on the year end banquet! On stage, the hardworking staff suddenly became dancing kings and queens. Everyone gave all the efforts and glowed like super stars. The audience was screaming with astonishment. The clapping and the photoflash went off one after another. The events were tremendously.

First on stage was the Employee Welfare Committee, who had organized this banquet. They recreated the belly dance of Bollywood. The climax of the banquet was the Korean street dance presented by Processing Examination Center. The vigor and strong temple dance had heated up the atmosphere. This annual event excited the show genes inside the employees. Everyone worked and practiced together and put tremendous efforts for the non-stop climax. After a series of shows and prizes lottery, this incredible event perfectly ended with every employees’ laughing, clapping, and exciting screams.

We have stepped into year 101 of the Republic of China. The 1’s in 101 stand for “excellent” and “victory.” In the meanwhile, we are welcoming the most traditional and welcomed Dragon year. In this year, we have presents many new product innovations for our Advanced Resistive and Projected Capacitive touch solutions including the controllers and drivers. These new products are being widely acclaimed by our customers. The projective capacitive touch solutions were released for sale from size 10.4” and below, other large sizes will be ready soon. AMT is able to provide Total Touch Solution to our customers; this is the core of our value-added advantage. Not only AMT can design and produce customized touch sensor and by working closely with PenMount engineering team to develop on touch controllers and driver support for resistive and projected capacitive touch. We will continue to provide total solution for ease of integration to customer’s system.

AMT pride herself for continuous improving on our quality of our products and constantly spend lots of resources to improve the ability and knowledge of all our employees. A grateful letter from a principal of an elementary school that accepted the donation from AMT has been received last week. We have sponsor for the school meals of the students from disadvantaged family. Below paragraph is extracted from the letter : “By just two phone calls and two emails, the disadvantaged children receive the warm helping from the unknown donator. AMT is one of the best examples for corporation with compassion and action. They provide the support for students that keep them away from being hungry, and help them to have a healthy childhood. We do believe that the love and kindness actions from AMT will have the influence to the society that will warm the heart of the children in our country and to the whole world. “Many of the students that received our sponsors have sent us the thank you cards made by their own, that make us feel warming and keep us moving forward.

Since five years ago, our production team leaders raise the donation every month on the pay day for helping “PingTung County Aboriginal Culture and Education Association“. For supporting bigger size projected capacitive touch panels, PenMount1400 controller is divided into P2-02 and P2-04 series, both use Microchip ICs. The drivers released by PenMount this year all support PenMount1400 controller. They can be used in Windows XP, Windows Embedded Compact 7, Fedora 16, openSUSE 12.1 and Ubuntu 11.10, etc.

PenMount 1400 Projected Capacitive Touch Control Board

The features of PenMount 1400 :

1. To work with 11”- 15” projected capacitive touch panels for your applications and requirements for medium- large size panels.

2. To support the projected capacitive touch panels with 0.5mm- 2.8mm décor glass for operating the single and dual touch with gloves smoothly.

3. USB interface is HID report descriptor in accordance with Microsoft Tablet PC Feature. It can be plugged and play in Windows 7. RS-232, UART and I²C interfaces are included as well.

4. Sample rate: > 100 sps( sample per second) which leads a smooth operating result.

5. Resolution: 2048 x 2048.

Additionally, PenMount utilities: PCIMset and Pmfu also support PenMount1400 projected capacitive controller; there are two ICs( major and minor) of PenMount1400, therefore two times update for firmware is necessary while using Pmfu utility. Detailed updating guide is under request.

Resistive touch technology has been around for more than 30 years and is relatively mature, with 4, 5, or 8 wire design options and comes in a wide variety of sizes. AMT and PenMount products have been around for more than 10 years and AMT resistive touch solution is industry tested and have passed many mission critical application challenges. There are many advantages on resistive touch technology and most of the issues with Resistive Touch screens are mechanically based, either optical or robustness issues, such as: scratching, because the surface hardness is generally around 3H pencil hardness and heavy touching force can cause physical damage cracking the ITO on top of the ITO film. Also, because of the nature of the materials used, analog resistive touch sensors may require recalibration to resolve any linearity issues.

The PCI touch solution is currently very popular in smaller sized products like Smartphones and medium sized applications like the tablet PC. There are several advantages for PCI touch; one is the glass top cover lens, that makes its surface hardness reach to Mohs 5, so it is not easily scratched. The other is it requires zero activation force and there is no calibration needed because the PCI touch controller is designed according to the LCD size, and finally there is the multiple touch, gesture feature. Other limitations of the PCI touch solution include: noise interference from other devices in the system or in the environment, gloved hand operation and water drops on the PCI touch surface can also affect performance. AMT continues to address these limitations and is attempting to reduce them.

The most popular PCI touch applications are in the small to medium size range. However, based upon the increase of customer inquiries for larger sized PCI touch solutions, AMT is responding by manufacturing larger PCI touch screens and addressing new issues inherent to good controller performance. Most of the customers may not aware that no matter what size PCI touch sensor designed, it will require special support from the PCI controller provider and most controller suppliers only focus on large quantity, consumer projects. AMT is fully understood the customer’s applications and requirements for projected capacitive touch and design our PCI touch to fulfill the customer demand.

With the renovation of hardware systems, Microsoft issues new operating system every 1- 2 years, PenMount not only announces new touch controller and driver for supporting new operating system promptly, but also keeps the update of old operating systems. However, the acquirement of old developing environment is getting harder, and the design of clients’ new products use new operating systems, therefore PenMount new controllers support mainly new operating systems, which is announced by PenMount bulletins. Both PenMount resistive and projected capacitive controllers support new operating systems, including Windows 7, Linux, Android and Windows Embedded Compact 7.

There were more 40 members including their families joint the Philippine tour. It was the raining season there, but fortunately it only rained in the night. The Cebu city is the 2nd largest city in Philippine. The culture there is the combination of Spanish and Asia tropical tradition. The most impressed historical attraction is the Magellan’s Cross, it was been planted by the Portuguese explorers Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. Then we went to the Bohol Island, it is the most famous tourist attraction in central Philippine. It is the only habitat for Tarsius Monkey, the smallest monkey in the world. The size of Tarsius Monkey is smaller than a palm of an adult. The coastal environment of Bohol Island producing unique and diverse marine life and is an important part of the Coral Triangle and has been protected by the United Nations. There are many species of fish and the contiguous coral reef seabed drops from 20 feet to 3000 feet forms a marvelous sight in the undersea world.

The four days tour to Kenting National Park and Liuqiu Island started from Saturday (Nov. 5th). The tour bus took us from the north of Taiwan all the way down to the southern of Taiwan, the Nanwan Bay in Kenting. Everybody just can’t wait to embrace the beautiful scenery of the Ocean. We visit the Kenting Street in the evening for shopping and enjoy the warm hospitality of South Taiwan. On the next day, the ferry took us to Liuqiu, it is a small Island with 6.8 square kilometers, the one and only coral Island with population of Taiwan. We went to see the significant Houshi Fringing Reef and the historic resident house. It was light rainfall on the third day, but everyone still felt great in the wonderful nature landscape and forgot about the noise in the city. We took a walk on the intertidal beach to see a lot of fascinating marine creatures, like starfish, sea cucumbers, and tropical fishes. On the fourth day, the tour boat with glass bottom took us to see the beautiful world under the sea. An unexpectedly meeting with the sea turtle made all of us exciting because the sea turtle is the symbol of fortunate and long life. We all appreciated the good job for protecting the natural environment by the local government.

For the colleagues that are not able to go to the trip for days, we have the barbecue party for a cheerful gathering on Saturday of the same weekend at Jinshan Youth Activity Center. The families are also been invited to share our happiness. The weather was wonderful that day and the seacoast scenery was beautiful on the way. Ocean waves whipped the shore surface and arouse snow white frostwork let a person mood feel light immediately. When everyone is still immerses in this enchanting scenery, we have arrived at today barbecue site, Jinshan Youth Centre. Feeling hungry after this journey, everyone start to unload equipment, prepare charcoal fire and exhibit chef’s skill. The barbecue fragrance greets the nostrils when the delicacies are placed on the table for our meal. There were laughter everywhere and everyone is in joyous mood. We got the happy ending by having a group picture for the sweet memory.

A short break is the preparation for the long journey. All AMT employees now are full of energy and ready to create more value for customers. You are welcome to visit Taiwan or other wonderful place in Asia to enjoy the exotic natural scenery.

PenMount supports two kinds of device drivers in former versions of Microsoft Windows CE: Standard and Stylus. In standard version, the calibration program and right mouse button utility are developed by PenMount itself. In Windows Embedded Compact 7, PenMount currently provides stylus driver, which is designed for integrating system touch supports, such as calibration algorithm, right mouse button and touch tap sound. For clients that requires touch accuracy, PenMount also provides additional 9 and 16 point calibration modes in the newly released device driver.

PenMount device driver for Microsoft Windows Embedded 7 supports all series of PenMount products such as PenMount 6000 RS-232/ USB, PenMount 9000 RS-232 and PenMount P2 RS-232/ USB. The PenMount P2 is our projected capacitive item, including PM1100, PM1200, PM1201, PM1300 and PM1400 control boards. This device driver is currently available for download from the PenMount website.

For clients that need dual touch support with PenMount P2 controllers in Windows Embedded Compact 7, the “Touch Gesture GWES Component” is required in the target system, which must be include during the build process of Windows Embedded Compact 7 OSDesign project. On the other hand, if the target system does not support touch gestures, the PenMount P2 will act like a single touch device.

The AMT LR touch panel has a low birefringence quarter wave ITO film with the polarizer and AR films combined. The AMT LR touch panel is designed to be a circular type touch panel that enables it to reach the lower reflective rate. Compared to the reflective rate of the standard resistive touch panel, around 16% to 22%, the circular type, Low-Reflective touch panel, presents an excellent reflective rate, less than 1.5%, which is the lowest among most other touch panels! The AMT LR will also have a very good light transmission rate, above 76%. With the launching of projected capacitive touch items, the majority applications are cell phones or tablet PCs, all what these products pursue is the light and thin décor glass; however, PenMount is aiming at developing thick décor glass. PenMount projected capacitive controller is the very first one which develops to support thick décor glass, the firm and anti- scratch thick décor glass on the projected capacitive panels is the option, on which can be operated by dual touch. PenMount already provides the projected capacitive touch solution with up to 5mm décor glass.

Projected capacitive touch technology functions by detecting slight changes of coupling capacitance, the sensitivity is therefore affected easily by external environment, and it’s difficult to distinguish the signal from the noise, which affects the sense and determination of the controllers. We add the charge pumps in PM1201 and PM1300 for increasing the voltage, this makes the controller to tell the signal from the noise easier; another advantage is the operation remains accurate even with 3mm or 5mm thick décor glass.

PenMount1201 provides 5 interfaces: USB, RS-232, UART, I²C and SPI, and the hardware connector is reserved as well. PenMount1201 supports 5”- 7.9” projected capacitive touch panels.

PenMount1300 provides 2 interfaces: USB and I²C, and the external USB connector is reserved. PenMount1300 supports 8”- 10.9” projected capacitive touch panels.

PenMount projected capacitive controllers support both single/ dual touch and gestures. The HD touch uses our standard AMT Film Glass (FG) touch panel and adds one layer of HD film that is a durable semi-organic “Copolymer” material with a surface hardness of 9H, pencil hardness. Compared to the standard AMT FG touch panel, that has a 3H surface hardness, the HD film layer provides a much stronger, scratch resistant surface layer. Moreover, with a thickness of only 0.2mm, similar to the thickness of our surface ITO film layer or thin glass, our HD film is more flexible than thin glass and does not require any increase in the touch force or handwriting force on the sensor.

AMT HD touch film comes in either clear or anti-glare, so our customers can select the best option for their HD touch panel solution. Also, AMT HD touch film can be added to most of the AMT resistive touch panels, up to 10.9” in size. Of course, AMT HD film has the added bonus of being anti-ultraviolet (UV), and is able to withstand longer operation in direct sunlight, compared with the standard FG touch panel. This extra feature makes AMT HD touch solution a better fit for most all of your outdoor applications.

However, some particular operating environments and applications of clients’ new designs can’t be supported by PenMount standard drivers, PenMount is always willing to listen to our clients’ need and help them to resolve the problems, for making their products perfect.

For Windows CE users, special BSP(Board Support Package) is used while developing, therefore the underlying hardware drivers aren’t all the same, PenMount will modify the drivers to fit clients’ needs. For example, many clients request the first touch just for turning on the backlight while the backlight is off, but not for functional input, to avoid accidentally clicking on buttons of foreground applications. Due to the backlight control differs on each system, PenMount will well communicate with clients before modifying the drivers for accomplishing this function.

For Linux system, PenMount is able to provide either drivers or source code according to client’s different needs. Some clients are experienced in system development, they are capable of modifying the source code provided by PenMount and integrating it into their own system. Some clients use the Linux distributions directly, such as Ubuntu 11.04, PenMount driver can be installed directly, which can save lots of developing time for you!

Under Linux, parts of clients use the graphic user interface other than X window system, such as developing touch application with DirectFB library. Those special applications don’t need the extra driver provided by PenMount; however PenMount still provides complete documents and sample codes for helping our clients to integrate the touch functions even more efficiently. Such flexible support for different products is also the reason that makes PenMount so popular among clients!

In principle, both the Touch Window and Framed Touch design products are based on providing a resistive touch that has a truly flat appearance and will easily install to the front of your system. Our Touch Window process laminates a graphic overlay on top of the touch panel. Our AMT patented Framed Touch process will have the top ITO film printed in black on the surrounding edges, therefore eliminating the graphic overlay. For both Touch Window and Framed Touch products, the bottom conductive glass edge has been ground and polished, and the corners have been chamfered. Currently, there are several tail designs used to make a Touch Window and Frame Touch panel that is truly flat. One design is to have a hole drilled through the glass and another design is to create a notch on the edge that allows the tail to drop down. Both of these actions are performed on the bottom conductive glass and both designs require additional manufacturing processes that take considerably more time and effort.

AMT continues to make quality improvements that will enhance our customers’ products and reduce the time and resources needed to produce. AMT has made changes to the Touch Window & Framed Touch manufacturing process that makes it easier to be adopted into many more products. We developed a solution that involves a slight change to the mechanical design, so that the edge of the tail side can be adjusted, thereby eliminating any and all drilling or trenching/notching processes. This will reduce production time, increase our quality and yields and improve the competitiveness of our Touch Window & Framed Touch product on market and provide our customer with a high-quality solution that is a very cost-effective truly flat end product.

Both the Touch Window and Framed Touch panels are available with the dimensions up to 380x480mm. For Framed Touch, the frame color is available in black, with or without a printed silver logo. All of the Touch Window and Framed Touch panels are customized to your unique design specifications.

PenMount PCI USB controllers are the digitizer HID device. This device is touch panel device for Microsoft Windows XP Tablet, Vista and Windows 7, which differs from mouse device. In Windows, the inbox functions such as calibration, right key etc can be used for digitizer HID. For the OS later than Linux Kernel 2.6.32, which supports digitizer touch panel as well, but the default HID driver supports single touch only in Linux.

Additionally, PenMount has supported PCI controllers to be used in X window. For the kernel driver earlier than 2.6.32, as Linux kernel can’t support digitizer device, the extra Linux Kernel driver provided by PenMount must be installed for operating the touch panel; and to add PenMount driver into Linux by compiling the kernel; which allows the PCI touch to be driven successfully in Linux, and same for ARM.

On Linux kernel versions later than 2.6.32 that recognize digitizer devices, the PenMount PCI devices can act without installing additional PenMount drivers, but some abnormal situation may occur sometimes. For the reason that the default X Window input driver doesn’t provide the touch functions such as right mouse button, operating mode etc, we suggest clients to install the PenMount driver for X Window, and all what you have to do is to follow the descriptions in the README file and execute a simple installation script.

Projected Capacitive Touch Series :

The Projected Capacitive touches requirements from Industrial customer toward to bigger size and thicker cover glass. That brings the projected capacitive touch applications suitable for not only the mobile device and tablet PCs but also for the Commercial and Industrial. AMT will demonstrate the PCI touch from 3.5” to 15”, and together with PenMount PCI control board. The supported cover glass thickness are been increased from 2.8mm to 5mm, to meet the more and more market requirements.

Advanced Resistive Touch Series :

1. Touch Window & Framed Touch :

The frameless design Touch panel could have a special design graphic overlay laminated on the top and with some function keys available. Customer can create their own fashionable and elegant touch system. The Framed Touch is AMT’s patented touch product which has the same concept of Touch Window; it provides the same thickness and optical performance as standard resistive touch panel.

2. MF (Multi-Finger) Touch :

For ensuring the ‘Safety’ on system operation, AMT has released this multi-finger MF touch panel which divides the touch zone from two to twelve in one touch panel, users can have 12 touches simultaneously. The location and size of each touch zone could be design by customers. AMT also provides the MF touch control board and drivers.

3.GFG (Glass-Film-Glass) Touch :

With higher anti-scratch hardness, better sensitivity, high temperature and chemical resistance, and better waterproofing, GFG touch create the value-add for 4-, 5-, and 8-wire designs. Those features make GFG touch panels suitable for harsh environment such as gas station and chemical factories. The GFG design also can combine with LR design for better optical performance.

4.HD film (Heavy Duty) Touch :

• HD film is made of a particular material with 9H hardness and only 0.2mm thickness. The material is flexible and suitable for hand writing applications. The HD touch solution can easily withstand to abrasions, scratches, chemicals and has anti-UV function.

5.LR (Low Reflective) Touch :

AMT’s low-reflective touch panel reduces the reflective rate of 4-, 5-, 8-wire and GFG touch panels to less than 1.5% while also increases the light transmission rate. AMT also provide the High Light Transmission touch products that raise the light transmission rate up to 86%~90% to make your product suitable for outdoor and under strong light environments.
