Glass Film Glass (GFG)
Except for the touch screen with film on the surface, AMT also successfully developed the resistive touch screen with a thin glass and a heavy duty material mounted on the surface, which AMT named GFG (Glass-Film-Glass) touch screen. The surface of such GFG is even more resistant to scratch, high temperature and easier to be cleaned.
There are two designs for GFG touch screen, one is using 0.2mm thin glass on top of the resistive touch screen, and the other is using a HD (heavy duty) film laminated on the top of the resistive touch screen. Both of the materials, thin glass or HD film, are featured with the advantage of anti-scrach. When applying thin glass with clear surface finish, the hardness will reach Mohs 5, while using HD film, whether it concerns a clear type or AG type of surface finish, the hardness will be higher than 9H. GFG touch surface coating could be clear surface or Anti-Glare surface finish. GFG touch screen is resistant to not only scratch and abrasion but also most of the chemicals, which makes GFG touch screen appropriate for the following purpose:
- Industrial Applications
- Medical Equipment
- Equipment for Food Industry
- Adverse and severe working circumstances such as gas station or chemical plant
- Various marine, haulage or aero transportation operating systems
If the GFG is to be mounted onto an equipment for outdoor use, it is also customizable to treat the GFG with low-reflection process, namely to design a GFG LR.
Characteristics of GFG:
- Sizes:
- 3” to 19”(0.2mm thin glass)
- ≦7” (HD film)
- Corrosion and scratch resistance, appropriateness for chemical environment, easily-cleaned surface
- Customizable Surface Finish: Clear or Anti-glare surface
- Average Activation Force: 0.5N ~ 1.5N
- Surface Hardness:
- for clear type thin glass: > Mohs 5
- for AG type thin glass: 7H
- for clear or AG type HD film: 9H
- Light transmission rate: Over 80%
- Operating temperature: -30 ~ 80˚C
- Storage temperature: -40 ~ 90˚C
- Linearity: Under 1.5%
GFG Design Structure:
- Standard GFG Structure

- Low Reflective GFG Structure

Almost all AMT standards can be customized to GFG type as desired by customers. For any need for customization, your contact is welcome.
