High Light Transmission (HLT)
The light transmission rate of an average touch screen measures generally around 78~81% with test equipment by either full-spectrum type or 550nm wavelength type one. This is what average resistive touch screen products were specified accordingly in the past decade. Mounting a resistive touch screen of such specification onto a LCD of lower brightness, viewer won’t be able to clearly see what’s on the screen under bright light environment. AMT’s High Light Transmission (HLT) touch screen, however, has light transmission rate highly increased to 85%~90%, which was implemented by coating an AR (Anti-Reflective) layer onto each ITO glass and ITO film, so that light transmission can be reinforced and furthermore the visibility on a low-luminant LCD can be improved. Additionally for this product, the light transmission rate is adjustable by varying glass thickness and AR coating degree.
Using difference thickness glass on HLT touch screen will have different light transmission rates, see the table for reference:
| Glass Thickness | Light Transmission Rate |
|---|---|
| 1.1 mm glass | 85% ~ 90% |
| 1.8 mm glass | 84.5% ~ 89% |
