Touch Window (TW)

In order to accommodate to the new design of frameless touch screen on many new products, AMT developed the structure of touch screen without bezel and named it Touch Window. AMT’s Touch Window has the following characteristics:

• A Décor Film with customer’s ID is mounted to the surface.
• For the edges, rounded corners and other shape are customizable.
• If necessary, Touch Windows are also drillable for holes, cutouts, or indentation.
• Various tail types

In order to coordinate with Touch Window structure, various tailing methods were developed by AMT for customer’s selection. Two tailing methods are popular among the customers, either making cutouts from backer or forming indentation on the backer on the tailing side, both of which prevent FPC tail from being pressed.

Structure of Touch Window Design

• Film-Film-Glass Construction (Generally the upper film is bigger by 0.75mm than bottom glass, the purpose is to cover the tolerance of the glass backer.)

• Film-Film-Film- PC Construction (5 layers)

• Customizable 4-, 5- and 8-wire design and Multi-Finger touch type
• Customizable backer materials of glass, Polycarbonate and PMMA
• Various thickness selection
• Customizable tailing methods of indentation or cutout
• Customizable plating service, including hole drilling, rounded-corner forming, etc.
