PCI Touch Screen Construction
AMT’s PCI has various structures design such as Glass-Film-Film-Film structure. Depending on your operation need of whether single-touch, dual-touch or multiple-touch, there are various conducting pattern desings for options.
Different design of touch panel structure is targeted at different application requirements. AMT provides customers with customized design of PCI touch panel structure. For end products which claims easy to clean and scratch resistant touch surface, PCI is the best solution for customer applciations. Whether it is required thinner or thicker, PCI can be made complying with your wishes.
The diagonal size of the touch panel will also affect the structure of the touch itself, when production process, impact resilience and weight are put into account.
As PCI controller measures the minute changes of the capacitance of the sensor, the data is prone to be interfered by EMI signal. AMT’s PCI touch sensors block EMI by having another conducting layer on the back side of the touch panel so that the customer could easily integrate our touch panel into their system without much concern of EMI issue.
PCI Construction
AMT PCI Touch Screen Construction is to laminate three layers or two layers of ITO film under the surface decor glass so that this flexible touch sensor base could be laid under any hard flat or curved cover lens. Such Glass-Film-Film-Film or Glass-Film-Film structure is suitable for product that is light, thin and impact resilient. The customer could laminate additional glass cover lens onto the Film surface to enhance chemical and scratch resistance capability. The thinner the glass is, the lighter and the higher total transmittance of the touch panel will be. AMT’s standard PCI stock items are of such design.


PCI Tail Designs
Depending on touch structures, there are several different FPC tail designs. Larger touch panels with many sensor lines usually have wider tails. There are several options for PCI tail designs. It could be two seperate tails due to too many sensors, or one tail for a medium or small sized PCI touch sensor, or having the tail with controller on a FPC circuit. The tail placement, in general, is at the edge of the longer side. However, shorter FPC tail is better for PCI touch performance. For the FPC terminal, usually a ZIF connector with lower profile and smaller foot print will be used to connected to the control board or the system.
PCI Surface Finish
The surface finish of PCI touch sensor is usually clear type because the top contact material is glass. However, Anti-Glare coating is also applicable. If you should need Anti-Glare surface treatment on glass surface, please contact us for further discussion.
