Optimized Design
AMT’s extraordinarily wide range of in-stock items allows most customers needs to be met without the need for customized manufacture. The following optimized design parameters can easily satisfy most individual design requirements.
- AMT standard tail length designs A full complement of type and length of FPC tail, 4-wire, 5-wire, and 8-wire configurations with 1.0mm, 1.25mm, 2.54mm pitch, and AMP, AMPC (AMP compatible) with or without latch, and Berg or ZIF connectors for all needs
- 4-, 5-, and 8-wire designs: 4-wire is fully compatible and more cost-effective than 5-wire for small and medium touch screens, while large 12″ touch screens will be better suited to 5- and 8-wire options
- 3-layer construction film-on-glass is a generally workable choice, although some customer requirements may call for a 5-layer design, film-film-glass, or film-film-polycarbonate although this is a requirement by projects
- In-stock ITO glass 0.7mm, 1.1mm, 1.6mm, 1.8mm, and 2.8mm thicknesses are the most popular choices, although special non-standard glass such as 1.9, 2.9, or 3.16mm can be provided in volume
- Chemical strengthened glass 1.1mm and 1.8mm are standard
