The current AMT PCI sensor constructions are either two or three layers of ITO film laminated to the top glass. We called it the GFF or GFFF type.
6. What is the purpose for the rear side conductive layer of PCI touch?
The bottom layer conductive film of PCI touch panel is for shielding purpose, to prevent the system or LCD noise to affect the controller signal detecting.

There are 5 different categories control board available from AMT PCI family.
- PM1100: for 3.5” to 4.9” PCI touch, RS-232 interface available
- PM1200: for 5” to 7.9” PCI touch, USB, RS-232 interface available
- PM1201: for 5” to 7.9” PCI touch, USB, RS-232 and I²C interface available
- PM1300: for 8” to 10.9” PCI touch, USB interface available
- PM1400: for 11” to 15” PCI touch, USB RS-232 and I²C interface available
10. How long can the tail be on PCI touch?
Shorter is better! A short tail reduces interferences between the electronic components.
11. How thick can the Top Decor Glass be?
It is depended on the control board support, AMT PCI solution supports from 1.1mm to 2.8mm top glass, 7” and 10.4” PCI is ready for 5mm.
12. What’s the sensor light transmission rate on 1.1mm clear surface glass?

13. Does water drops affect the functionality of projected capacitive touch screens?
In general, liquid drops on the surface of a projected capacitive touch screen sometimes might even cause the touch screen to malfunction, However AMT PCI touch with PenMount PCI controller has our own way to handle if water drops on PCI touch.
14. Can I operate a projected capacitive touch screen with gloved fingers?

16. What is the bending radius for PCI tail?
Tails bend radius is 1mm.
17. What is the difference between cover-glass and décor-glass?
Cover glass is the pure transparent glass used for AMT standard PCI (GFFF).
Décor glass is a cover glass which has an additional color printing on the backside (e.g. black frame).
18. What is the surface hardness of PCI?
PCI cover glass has a clear surface with a hardness of MOHS 5.
19. Does AMT PCI touch with COF (Chip on Flex) tail?
Yes, it is available for 7” PCI with COF tail, the part no is P3012-C, check to our sales people
20. Any other larger size of PCI will be released as AMT standard stock item?
Yes, we are working on 15.6” and 21.5” now; they will be released in Q2 and Q3, 2012
21. Can AMT provide combo PCI design by adding touch Buttons on the PCI touch panel?
Yes, it will be custom designed for both touch panel and control board.
22. Does AMT PCI have EMI design?
Yes, all AMT PCI touch sensor is design with EMI shielding to avoid the interference from LCD or own system.
23. Does AMT have any schedule plan for bigger size of PCI?
AMT is able to produce the size from 3” to 15” today, and the next size will be 15.6” in Q2 2012.
24. Is AMT PCI already in mass production?
The sizes below 15” are mass production now.
25. Will AMT release the PCI touch sensor with COF design?
Yes, the 7” PCI with COF tail is ready; there will come 4.3” and 5.7” PCI with COF tail in Q2 of 2012.
26. What are the thicknesses of cover glass that AMT PCI Sensors can support?
- S Series (P3002-3.5” / P3003-4.3”): up to 1.8mm
- MS-1 Series (P3004-5.7” / P3005-6.4” / P3006-7”): up to 2.8mm
- MS-2 Series (P3012-7”): up to 5mm
- ML Series (P3007-8.4” / P3008-10.4”): up to 2.8mm
- L Series (P3009-12.1” / P3013-15”): up to 2.8mm
