Glass-Film-Glass
1. How many surface types do you have for GFG (glass-film-glass) touch screens?
For GFG, a thin glass or a Heavy Duty (HD) are optional to overlay the resistive touch screen.
2. What are the advantages of GFG touch screens? What differences does it make from standard resistive touch screens?
For the GFG with thin glass as surface layer, the advantages are anti-scratch, easy to clean and anti-chemical.
For the GFG with HD film as surface layer, the environmental tolerance and anti-abration are even better.
3. How many top glass thickness are optional for GFG touch screens?
- For 0.2mm surface glass thickness, either clear or anti-glare is optional.
- For HD film surface, either clear or anti-glare is optional.
4. How many sizes are available for your GFG touch screens?
Glass surface: For clear surface, 3″ to 19″ are designable. For anti-glare surface, sizes up to 17″ are designable.
HD film surface: 3″ to 19″ are designable.
GFG is designable for all 4-, 5-, and 8-wire resistive touch screens.
5. Does it require more force to activate a GFG touch screen?
Due to the lamination of a top thin glass layer, it requires a little more force than operating a standard resistive touch screen. AMT GFG touch screens’ activation force is generally less than 1N.
6. What does GFG’s surface black-color mylar function for?
This 0.1mm thick mylar functions to protect the thin glass edge from customer’s front bezel. If you do not require this mylar material, please contact us before delivery.
7. Does AMT keep the standard stock item of GFG touch screen?
Yes, we have several standard items to enter manss production.
8. How long is your warranty for GFG touch screens?
The warranty is one year.
9. How about the hardness of GFG touch screens?
GFG with thin glass surface:
- For clear glass surface, the hardness > Mohs 5. For AG or AR hard-coated surface, the hardness > 7H.
- For HD film surface, the hardness is 9H.
10. What are the applications for GFG touch screens?
GFG touch screen is good for anti-abration applications such as the equipment for public use and ticketing system. For the special applications in the environment of high temperature or exposed to chemicals that needs easy-cleaning feature, AMT suggests that you choose GFG with surface thin glass type.
11. Is there any critical zone on a GFG touch screen?
There are 2 critical zones on a GFG touch screen. First are the edges of the thin glass. AMT protects this zone by sticking a black color mylar on it. The second one locates in the viewing area. It is much liable to the damage by stylus due to the gap resulted from the double-side adhesive.
12. Is low-reflection designable for GFG touch screens?
GFG with surface thin glass can be advanced with low-reflection.
GFG with HD film cannot be integrated with low-reflection feature.
13. How about the operating and storage temperatures of your GFG touch screens?
Operating temperature for GFG: -30 to +80 degrees Celsius.
Storage temperature for GFG: -40 to +85 degrees Celsius.
14. Can I have a strengthend surface glass for my GFG touch screen?
Yes.
15. Can I have an additional EMI shielding layer to the back of your GFG touch screens?
Yes.
