An Even More User-Friendly I²C Interface

Customers used to need our drivers to use the I²C interface of the PenMount PCAP controller. In order to provide an even more convenient PCAP touch solution, we have added the HID over I²C function in the new version of PCAP firmware V6.4.0. If the operating system used by the customer is Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11, the built-in driver can be used to utilize PenMount PCAP touch function. For Linux systems, customers can choose either HID over I²C or PenMount I²C protocol, depending on the kernel version in the target system.

Signal and Accuracy Optimized for Narrow Border Design

Some LCD panels on the market are designed with narrow borders, and the matching touch panel borders are also narrow. In general, PCAP touch panels with narrow border designs tend to have poor signal and low accuracy near the edge. PenMount improves the accuracy of the edge of the PCAP touch panel by modifying the algorithm of the firmware. If customers need a PCAP touch panel with a narrow border design, they don't need to worry about poor sensitivity at the edges of the touch panel any more. With the new version of PCAP firmware V6.4.0, the accuracy of the edge of the touch panel can reach within 2.5mm.

Validation and Analysis Supported

To assist customers to verify and analyze problems, customers can use the new version of PCIUtility V1.11.0 to run our new background application - Event log. This function enables customers to track the signal sent by the touch panel and can automatically intercept the log file with a user-specified interval. For example, if a customer wants to know whether there is a false touch during the product verification process, or whether the waterproof function or the palm rejection function is activated, these events can now be recorded. Customers can track and analyze problems through the Event log program, which can speed up the whole machine verification. With the use of PenMount PCAP new firmware V6.4.0, you can have a comprehensive event recording function.
