25 Aug, 2023Compassion and care have always been integral to AMT's corporate social responsibility.
To maximize the impact of our volunteer efforts, we divided our colleagues into different teams, engaging in various volunteer activities across different organizations. This event allows us to help a broader range of individuals. It fosters a sense of unity among colleagues who share similar feelings about the same cause- reaching a mutually beneficial result! About 200 colleagues participated in this season's AMT Volunteer activities, serving over 20 charitable organizations, including visiting vulnerable elderly, caring for children in childcare institutions, environmental cleanup, assisting visually impaired seniors playing sports, and participating in parenting camps for recovering drug addicts. While our capabilities are limited, we aspire to kindle society's compassion through these small acts and collectively support those in need around us. Let's share two volunteer experiences of AMT colleagues:
In June this year, AMT colleagues joined the Huashan Social Welfare Foundation to provide volunteer services in Wanhua District, Taipei. Wanhua has a significantly large vulnerable elderly population, with many elderly individuals living alone, requiring external care and attention for their living environment and emotional well-being. Alongside Huashan Social Welfare Foundation volunteers, we visited these seniors, offering care packages and engaging in conversations to understand their needs and provide feedback to the foundation for future reference. During the service, we recognized that companionship and attentive listening were what older adults valued the most, and we were thrilled that they enjoyed our visit.
AMT Chairman Chao and Vice President Chu led another volunteer service. We joined the "Summer Parent-Child Growth Camp" the Libertas Educational Foundation organized. By promoting the bond between recovered drug addicts and their families, we aimed to bridge the gap and strengthen their determination to overcome addiction. Additionally, we cheered on the families, providing support and encouragement. We hope to provoke a more positive and supportive environment from the entire society.
With more helping hands, our society would become a better place. Open your mind and help those groups that require our care and attention. Everyone can make a tangible difference by reaching out. Let’s continue spreading kindness, hoping our actions will bring more warmth and hope to society.
