1. Optimizing Touch Performance at Screen Edges

For some touch applications with thicker front bezels, touch operations at the screen edges (such as closing window buttons or displaying the start menu button) may be affected by the bezel's thickness, resulting in less responsive touch performance. In response, the new PenMount PCAP controller firmware V6.5 enhances touch performance at the screen edges for thicker front bezel designs. We have improved the touch algorithm and enhanced the smoothness of edge touch operations. Users can adjust the active area and edge distance via the latest PenMount PCIUtility V2.0.1, and fine-tune the edge touch effects on the X and Y axes for an optimal user experience.

2. Enhancing Noise Immunity

The PenMount PCAP controller firmware V6.5 introduces the highest level of Extreme noise immunity mode to cope with high-noise operating environments. When used with the new PenMount PCIUtility V2.0.1, users can enable the Extreme noise immunity mode by setting the touch device to single-finger operation mode. This ensures the stability and reliability of the touch device in high-noise environments (such as CNC machines) without requiring comprehensive parameter adjustments, allowing the PCAP touch panel to operate without environmental interference.

3. Strengthening HID over I²C Compatibility

In this update, PenMount PCAP controller firmware V6.5 further strengthens HID over I²C compatibility on Windows and Linux systems. This means that whether in PCs or embedded devices, PenMount PCAP touch technology provides excellent compatibility and performance, suitable for various operating systems.

4. Flexible Resolution Support

With advances in display technology, 8K monitors with a native resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels have emerged, far exceeding the 4096 x 4096 resolution range provided by the previous V6.4 firmware. In the new V6.5 PCAP controller firmware, PenMount offers a higher touch resolution of 8192 x 8192, meeting the needs of customers whose products require 8K display compatibility.
