What is the working principle behind a projected capacitive touch panel? - FAQs | Manufacturer of Resistive | PCAP Touch Screen | PenMount Touch Screen Controller - AMT

There are two ITO layers beneath the glass of a PCAP touch panel which form balanced X axis and Y axis electrical fields. When a finger nears the glass surface, the finger forms a new electrical field with the X axis or Y axis electrodes and causes partial changes in capacitance. The controller will determine the location of the touch according to changes in capacitance. Certified resistive, projected capacitive (PCAP) touch screens and PenMount touch screen controllers meeting international standards, ISO, UL E331240-A1-UL, REACH, and RoHS. All touch screen products are supplied with flexible production quantity and long term support.
