AMT Transparent Anti-ESD Ink Improves Product Reliability
29 Oct, 2026In precision electronics manufacturing, industrial equipment, and optical applications, electrical charges may accumulate on material surfaces through contact, friction, or separation, potentially causing electrostatic discharge (ESD). While ESD can damage sensitive components, electrostatic attraction (ESA) can also increase the buildup of dust and particles, affecting product appearance, operational stability, and manufacturing quality. AMT has developed its own transparent anti-ESD ink to effectively disperse static charges and allow them to transfer to and dissipate through other conductive media (such as air or moisture). It helps reduce the risk of ESD while maintaining product appearance and reliability and providing long-lasting anti-ESD protection.
Transparent Anti-ESD Coatings
AMT anti-ESD ink helps disperse surface charges and reduce continued charge buildup. Its features include:
- High transparency: Suitable for transparent glass and components used in displays and optical instruments.
- Reduced static interference: Reduces surface charge buildup to help maintain stable operation of electronic equipment.
- Reduced dust attraction: Reduces the electrostatic attraction of dust and particles to help keep surfaces clean.
- Compatibility with various substrates: Can be coated onto glass, PC, PMMA, PET, and other substrates.
- Surface resistance: 107 to 1010 Ω/sq, ensuring effective static control.
Static Dissipation and Durability
In addition to static dissipation performance, anti-ESD coatings must address the effects of daily wear and environmental exposure. AMT anti-ESD ink is suitable for high-end products requiring long-lasting anti-ESD protection, as well as consumable products.
- ESD protection: (in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2, Class 4/Class B)
- Air Discharge: ±30 kV
- Contact Discharge: ±30 kV
- Surface hardness: The anti-ESD coating on glass substrates can achieve a surface hardness of 7H or higher.
- UV resistance: Passed 500-hour testing in accordance with ASTM G154 Cycle 1 and MIL-STD 810H PRO 1.
- Excellent wear resistance and strong adhesion.
- High stability verified through chemical testing.
Diverse Applications
Applications for AMT transparent anti-ESD ink can extend from display products to precision electronic equipment, industrial automation components, and semiconductor equipment peripherals, including:
- Display screens: Reduces the effects of static charge buildup on display performance and reduces dust adhesion.
- Optical instruments: Camera lenses, equipment viewing windows, and similar components.
- Automation equipment: Plastic guards, equipment housings, and fixtures, helping reduce static charge buildup.
- Semiconductor carriers: Can be evaluated for use on wafer carriers or components that hold critical process materials.
- Other applications: Surfaces of objects sensitive to static electricity.
