How should a universal Sigma cable be designed and validated to support all five display sizes?
Use a fully populated dual-channel LVDS cable as the common baseline for 7, 10.1, 12.1, 15.6, and 21.5-inch Sigma displays. Populate all required LVDS differential pairs, LCD logic power and grounds, backlight power and control, USB touch lines, and any optional touch-control signals required by the selected model. Keep the unused second-channel conductors available so the same harness can support larger dual-channel displays, and size VCC, V_BL, and ground conductors for the largest or highest-power model planned for the platform. Route LVDS as controlled differential pairs with correct polarity, mapping, shielding, and the recommended cable-length limit. When the universal dual-channel cable is used with a single-channel display, verify signal integrity and EMI performance because unused conductors can couple noise if shielding or grounding is inadequate. Do not release the common cable based on one display size only; validate it with all five target Sigma sizes before production release.
